AAOF Donated Orthodontic Services Program Wins ASAE Award

The AAOF Donated Orthodontic Services Program (DOS) was awarded a 2022 Power of Associations award from the American Society of Association Executives.

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has named the AAO Foundation – Donated Orthodontic Services program a 2022 Power of Associations Silver Award winner.

The ASAE sponsors the Power of Associations award program to showcase the work of associations in offering programs, activities and initiatives that advance industries and professions, improve quality of life, and solve pressing problems.

Since it was established in 2009, the Donated Orthodontic Services (DOS) Program has provided orthodontic treatment for more than 1,000 children from families with financial need.

DOS welcomes children 18 years of age or younger, with good oral hygiene, and not currently undergoing or in between phases of orthodontic treatment to apply for the program.

Families also must have an income under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level based on their family size.

American Association of Orthodontists member volunteers help DOS patients and focus on treatment only, with no minimum requirement for cases accepted.

The DOS program, managed by a dedicated team member of the AAO Foundation, provides all front-end assessments of financial eligibility and readiness to comply with treatment requirements.
